2023 Asian Athletics Championships: Watch Live TV and Get Match Schedule

Tajinderpal Singh ToorAsian record holder in men’s pitching, and outstanding hurdler Jyothi Yarraji will lead the Indian challenge at 2023 Asian Athletics Championships will be at Suphachalasai National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 12 to 16.

The 2023 Asian Athletics Championships will be broadcast live in India.

The latest edition of the continental event is being held after a four-year gap. The 2021 meeting, scheduled for Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

India initially announced a 54-member squad for the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships. However, several Indian athletes, including national record triple jumper Praveen Chithravel, competed Long jumper Jeswin Aldrin and javelin thrower Rohit Yadav, later withdrew due to injuries.

Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra and 3000m hurdler Avinash Sable, both preparing for the World Athletics Championships in August, are also not part of the Indian team.

Indian pitcher Tajinderpal Singh Toor, the 2018 Asian Games champion, will compete at the continental Games. The 28-year-old recently improved his own Asian and national records with a 21.77m at the Inter-Country Championships last month.

Murali Sreeshankar, who achieved his personal best in the 8.41m long jump at the federal long jump, will compete in the men’s long jump. Shaili Singh and Ancy Sojan are competing for India in the women’s long jump.

Jyothi Yarraji, the national record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, will lead the Indian team in athletics at the Asian Games. Jyothi Yarraji, 23, will enter the event in Bangkok after an impressive season, having won several medals in athletics competitions abroad as well as in India. Rezoana Mallick Heena, the defending Asian U20 women’s 400m champion, is also in the Indian team.

The Indian team trained at national camps held in Patiala, Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram before departing for Bangkok.

Anju Olympian Bobby George, bronze medalist of the Women’s Long Jump World Championships, has been appointed as team leader of the Indian team.

India finished with 15 medals – two gold, eight silver and five bronze – at the last Asian Athletics Championships, held in Doha in 2019.

A live stream of the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships will be available on the Asianathletics2023 YouTube channel. There will be no live broadcast of the event on any TV channels in India.
