realme has announced that their latest smartphone, the realme 11 Pro 5G series, will launch in Malaysia on July 20, 2023. Interestingly, the company has specifically referred to this series as the “series” Pro 5G», which could indicate that the variant launched alongside the Pro and Pro+ models in China back in May may not see a local release. Whether this actually happens or not, we will only know when the event unfolds next week.
Regardless, here’s a rundown for all three devices. As revealed during the series’ first launch, the brand called on former Gucci Prints designer Matteo Menotto to help design the realme 11 series – more specifically the Pro and Pro Plus variants. . Both have a similar faux-leather rear panel with a textile strip running down the center, which Menotto says was inspired by the Italian city of Milan. Color options include green, black, and a two-tone beige and orange combination, while the vanilla model with a simpler faux-leather back is available in orange or black.
Realme 11 Pro Plus is equipped with a large 6.7-inch curved AMOLED screen with FHD + resolution (1080 x 2412 pixels), 1.07 billion color output, 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood is the Mediatek 6nm Dimensity 7050 5G chipset, combined with Mali-G68 GPU, 12GB RAM and up to 1TB of internal memory. Additionally, powering the handset is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging via USB-C.
For photography, the Pro Plus model comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a Samsung ISOCELL HP3 200MP main camera with 4X “SuperZoom” functionality, an 8MP ultra-wide angle, and a 2MP macro. It is worth noting that the main camera sensor present on the phone is the same as the one used on the phone Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra launched earlier this year. Meanwhile, located in the notch on its screen is a 32MP selfie camera.
Next, we have the realme 11 Pro, which is identical to the Plus model in terms of design and most hardware specifications. The only differences are the internal memory configuration, supported charging speeds, and the built-in camera sensor.
More specifically, this particular variant starts with 8GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and only supports up to 67W fast charging via USB-C. On its back is a dual camera setup consisting of a 100MP main camera and a 2MP macro, while at the front is a smaller 16MP sensor for selfies.
Last but not least is the vanilla realme 11. This model is equipped with a smaller 6.43-inch flat AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), 16.7 million colors output, speed 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. Inside, the phone has a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 5G chipset, along with Mali-G57 GPU, up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Like its brethren, it also comes with a 5,000mAh battery, though fast charging is limited to 33W over USB-C. Meanwhile, on the imaging front, the standard variant features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the only punch-hole in the display is the 8MP front-facing camera.
As expected, the company will only reveal the price and local availability for the realme Pro 5G series during the event scheduled to take place next Thursday. For your reference, the new lineup is out in China with a starting price of CNY 1,999 (~RM1,287) for the Pro Plus, CNY 1,699 (~RM1,093) for the Pro, and CNY 1,599 (~RM1,029) for the vanilla variant. Keep in mind that local releases may come with different memory configurations.
